The IACIS Managing a Digital Forensics Laboratory (MDFL) Training Program is a 16-hour course designed to teach supervisors, managers, and executives the best practices for operating a digital forensics laboratory.
The course is designed for supervisors or managers who are responsible for supervising a digital forensics unit or laboratory. Topics include understanding digital forensics, managing a multi-generational environment, training and certification of examiners, case and evidence management, and developing quality practices.
Topics include but are not limited to:

- Types of digital forensics exams.
- Conducting examinations of digital evidence.
- Case and evidence management.
- Funding a digital forensic lab.
- Understanding the new generation.
- Commitment to Quality
- Competency and proficiency testing,
- Technical/Peer Review process,
- Software and Equipment verification,
- Training and certification of examiners,
- Development of laboratory policies and procedures.
