IACIS Internet Forensics and Investigations
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!!
The IACIS Internet Forensic Investigations (IFI) Training Program is a 36-hour course of instruction, offered over five (5) consecutive days. The first part of the program is designed to provide students with detailed study of traces left behind on computer and other devices relating to internet usage. The second part of the course will contain information how to do internet investigations and how to obtain information from internet service providers.
Through a variety of lectures, instructor-led practical exercises, independent hands-on practical exercises, and independent laboratory activities, students will study the traces left behind on a the Windows operating system in far greater detail than other classes. There will also be far more specificity regarding critical areas of forensic focus, than what can be accomplished in the more generalized training courses.
At the conclusion of this course, students will have a clearer understanding on what artifacts are left behind if different internet related services are used and how knowledge of these artifacts can play a significant role in the forensic and investigative process.
Like all IACIS training programs, the IFI Training Program champions a forensic tool-independent approach to the learning of computer forensics. This approach allows for a deeper exploration of the underlying subject matter than might be afforded in other programs which are designed to teach students how to use a particular forensic tool.
The IFI Training Program is designed to build on and expand one’s existing forensic knowledge and skill set and is not an entry level class. Prospective students should reference the “Prerequisites” section elsewhere in this document for additional information about expectations for students.
