Volunteer since 2015 in the areas of Training, Mobile Certification, and Development.
The opportunities for traveling and meeting hundreds of like-minded individuals from all over the world were a big draw for Jung to volunteer for IACIS. He views IACIS as a family and values the organization’s welcoming environment for sharing knowledge. He enjoys meeting new people, solving problems, and contributing to the overall growth of the organization.
Do not be fooled by Jung’s stature. He is a force to be reckoned with. He has a black belt in Taekwondo, the martial art of his home country, and he often stays active with tennis and golf. His personal mantra is “I work today to change tomorrow.” Jung grew up in South Korea and now lives in Auckland with his wife and two toddlers.
Jung is a Principal Electronic Forensic Investigator, formally with the New Zealand Police High Tech Crime Group based in Auckland, and now with the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). Jung provides digital forensic investigation services which include evidence acquisition, evidence analysis, malware analysis, reporting, and expert witness testimony. Prior to joining the SFO, Jung worked with the New Zealand Police, the local government, the education sector, and in the private IT industry. In these roles, Jung conducted various investigations involving serious or complex financial crime, corruption, computer misuse, web server hacking, and mobile device analysis. Jung is also a part-time Lecturer at the Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, where he has taught Digital Forensic Analysis Techniques and is currently teaching a Computer Forensic Investigations course.
