Volunteer since 2010 in the areas of Training, Certification, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, and Volunteer Recognition Awards Committee.
In 2009, Sonny attended the IACIS training event in Florida where he made many friends and was inspired after seeing so many like-minded individuals giving back to the community. He values the opportunity that IACIS gives practitioners in receiving accredited training and certification in the field. Sonny has undertaken many roles for IACIS, including serving as a Peer Review coach, developing training material and teaching for both BCFE and WFE courses, and finding ways to recognize the great efforts of our volunteers.
Sonny was born in Kenya, Africa, and later emigrated to the United Kingdom, where he currently lives with his family. He is a retired Detective from the UK Police service, where he was involved in Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigations. Presently, he is involved in teaching Computer Forensics and is a Course Manager at the College of Policing in the United Kingdom.
Sonny likes to spend as much time as he can with his family. He also stays active as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for both his Sikh faith community and his local Lions Club. He finds joy in playing golf and traveling to different countries to learn about their cultures and cuisines. Sonny, however, will decline any culinary adventure involving oysters or escargot!
